Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle treatment that stimulates the body’s lymphatic system, encourages lymph flow, which in turn removes waste and excess fluid from the body. Gentle pumping actions on the body help to encourage lymph flow just below the skin.

The lymph system is responsible for regulating the immune system, if the lymph becomes blocked, fluids and toxins build up in the body making it more susceptible to disease. Gentle stimulation of the lymphatic system will boost the immune system, clear blockages, eliminate toxins, bring nutrients to the cells and increase metabolism.

Lymphoedema is caused either by the lymphatic system not functioning properly, which creates swollen limbs, or is it a post operative condition when lymph nodes have been damaged or removed during cancer treatment.

MLD boosts the immune system and helps the body fight off illness. The treatment can promote feelings of wellbeing and vitality, improve the appearance of the skin, reduce puffiness due to water retention, poor circulation or pregnancy.
