I work as a clinical massage therapist. I specialise in working with patients with sciatica, helping them out of pain, improving their range of movement and helping them get back to doing the things that matter to them.
Sciatica is an umbrella term under which various conditions might fall, such as a herniated disc, piriformis syndrome, and low back pain.
I have found the most effective way to treat sciatica is with a fusion of techniques including trigger point therapy, sports massage, myofascial release, hot stone massage, and Swedish massage. I always tailor the massage treatment to suit the client and on our first meeting I will conduct a confidential consultation to ensure the treatment is suited to your needs. I also include assisted stretching during the treatment and provide clear and appropriate after care advice and simple rehabilitation exercises as necessary.
I have the JING diploma in Advanced Clinical and Sports Massage BTEC Level 6, which is the highest massage qualification in the UK. Other qualifications include an ITEC diploma in Swedish Massage, ITEC certificate in Indian Head Massage, Thai Foot massage certificate from Wat Po massage school in Bangkok, JING certificate in Advance Clinical and Sports Massage Therapy, JING certificate in Myofascial Release, JING certificate in Oncology Massage and Scar Work, and JING certificate in Hot Stone Massage, RockTape certificate in kinesiology taping, FHT Manual Lymphatic Drainage diploma.
I work from my sciatica clinic in Hove for the majority of the time, but I also provide massage on a voluntary basis at a local hospice for patients with life limiting conditions such as cancer, multiple sclerosis and heart conditions.
I am a member of the Complementary Health Professionals Association and I am fully insured by Balens Insurance Ltd.
